Receive your public transport card upon arrival & check-in to your eco-friendly hotel – this will give you the freedom to explore the city via the public system and do as the locals. In the evening, travel to Gro Spiseri for a Welcome Dinner. The produce is sourced locally from the corresponding organic rooftop garden ØsterGRO, which is the first of its kind in Denmark. Built on an old car auction, Gro Spiseri is a truly unforgettable tasting experience.
Explore the city’s architecture by bike
Enjoy the day exploring the city from an entirely different perspective. Copenhagen is known for its visionary architecture, combining organic shapes and modern design with Scandinavian Minimalism and Nordic elegance.
After your organic breakfast, take public transport or walk (approx. 20 minutes) to meet a local architect. The city of Copenhagen is praised as an incredible cycling city and today you will explore the city’s historic structures on a bike tour (2,5 hours, 13km of cycling). Later, cycle to Amager Bakke for a visit to Copenhagen’s famous man-made mountain. The waste-to-energy plant is critical in Copenhagen’s drive of being zero carbon by 2025 and is renowned for its spectacular panoramic views of the capital. Designed by Bjarke Ingels, the power plant also doubles as a ski slope and a climbing wall. Experience this masterpiece during a guided tour and enjoy the views with a drink atop afterwards.
To Stockholm by train
After your breakfast, walk to Copenhagen central station and catch the train to Stockholm. Cross the famous Øresundbridge connecting Copenhagen and Malmø, creating a vast metropolitan area across borders. Along endless forests and lakes you’ll travel north towards the Swedish Capital. Nestled in between lakes, forests and the seemingly endless archipelago that spreads into the Baltic Sea, Stockholm will enchant you with a bustling combination of modern architecture and old royalty.
Arrive at the central station and walk to the centrally located, eco-certified hotel. Having sat on the train for a few hours, it’s time to get the blood pumping again. Meet a local guide and embark on a 3-hour walking tour through the capital. See the old town and enjoy a visit to the Stockholm City Hall, famous for the annual Nobel Prize ceremonies. Enjoy a free evening in this historic city.
Today you will enjoy a unique local experience. Discover the Stockholm archipelago, local art and incredible native food. Board a local bus at the hotel and drive out of the city and towards the hugely popular Artipelag museum. Explore the spectacular exhibitions and then re-group in the Museum’s restaurant. The chefs’ experiment with tastes, combining organic produce with modern Nordic cuisine. It’s Nordic deliciousness on a plate!
Board the boat back from the Museum and enjoy Stockholm from the water as you sail from the forests to the city. Arrive at the pier in the city centre in the afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
The 2019 European Green Capital
After a delicious breakfast in the hotel walk to the train station and catch a train to Oslo. Your third country of the trip overwhelms with its mountains, forests and magic all around. Located on top of the Oslo-Fjord, the Norwegian capital is developing at unprecedented pace. The entire harbour area is currently being re-structured and the city has used its title as the 2019 European Green Capital to give itself an incredible facelift.
From the train station walk to your award winning environmentally friendly hotel. Your local guide will meet you there and you’ll embark on a first orientation of the city by local bus. You will travel to Holmenkollen, renowned for its phenomenal views and famous ski jump. You’ll also visit Frogner Park. Designed 100 years ago, the park boosts controversial statues from Norwegian Artist Gustav Vigeland. After you finish the city tour, enjoy the evening at leisure. Your guide will have excellent local food recommendations for the evening.
“When in Oslo, do as the Locals!”
This morning, get active and go kayaking! Norwegians love to be outdoors and as the old saying goes, ‘when in Oslo do as the locals!’ Meet your local guide at the hotel then travel to the border in between Aker and Løkka. Meet your kayak guide and experience this part of town from the water. Through rapids and a beautifully forested park you see the city from an entirely different perspective. The river flows right next to the Opera House and into the sea. your trip will end in the centre of Oslo where everything is easily walkable. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
In the evening, walk to Restaurant Rest for a delicious farewell dinner made from scraps. It might sound strange, but this restaurant has taken cooking to the next level by taking food waste and transforming it into Michelin star worthy cuisine. Restaurant Rest truly tries to create a better world… one plate at a time. After dinner walk back to the hotel.
Enjoy the morning at leisure and walk around exploring Oslo before catching your transfer to the ferry in the early afternoon. Check into your ferry and enjoy a cruise through the majestic Oslo fjord towards Denmark. Dinner is served on the ferry.
